Mission Statement of the Wright County Wave Swim Club:

We intend to offer a program to all members of our club, the opportunities that swimming in a club environment can provide. As a sanctioned USA Swimming club, the Wright County Wave Swim Club is committed to a program that includes but is not limited to improving swimming skills, offering competitive opportunities, setting goals, building self-esteem, recognizing personal potential, developing friendships and enjoying swimming as a lifetime sport. Our membership is encouraged to utilize any or all of the opportunities that the club may provide.

Swimmer registration for the up coming 2008/2009 Short Course

will be held on Monday October 6th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

at Buffalo Community Middle School - West entrance (pool entrance).

Parent informational meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday October 6th.

The Wright County Wave is a competition based swim program. The team competes in meets throughout the metro area, St. Cloud and Hutchinson. Practices are held at Buffalo Community Middle School. Swimmers are encouraged but not required to participate in time standard meets.

Swimmers with the Wave Swim Club develop and enhance their skills using proper technique in all of the competitive strokes, plus proper turns and starts. Those strokes are Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and the Butterfly.

Swimmers are grouped into one of three levels depending on their skills.

Minnows - Beginner Swimmers - Practice two times per week - 1.5 hours

Sharks - Intermediate Level Swimmers - Practice 3/4 times per week - 1.5 hours

Competitors - Gold/Silver/Bronze - Higher Level Swimmers - Practice 3/4 times per week - 2 hours

The Wave Swim Club offers a two week trial for new swimmers who have never swam as part of a USA swimming sanctioned team. There are no registration fees during this trial period. After the trial period has ended, swimmers must register as a member of the Wave Swim Club to continue swimming. No swimmer may participate in a meet during the trial period.

There are two sets of registration fees for the Wave Swim Club.

The USA Swimming Registration fee - This is the fee required by Minnesota Swimming and USA Swimming. This fee covers their costs and provides supplemental health care for swimmers.

The Wright County Wave Registration fee is the fee the club requires. This fee covers the cost of the organization including but not limited to insurance costs, equipment, training, salaries, and all other costs associated to the organization.

Minnesota Swimming Inc. (MSI) Registration Fee for Year 2008/2009: $53.00 – per swimmer

The MSI Registration Fee is a Non Refundable Fee.

Wright County Wave Registration Fee for 2008/2009 Short Course:

$200.00 – Single / First Swimmer in Family - $160.00 – Each Additional Family Swimmer

*** Pro-Rated Swimmer - $100.00 - Pro-Rated Swimmer is a swimmer participating on BHS Girls Swim Team or 6^th Grade Swimming and starting Wave after participation in those has ended.

$75.00 – Pro Rated Swimmer for Boys Participating before and after BHS Boys swimming.

There is no discount on Pro Rated fees.
